  6. Interests Kris is now looking at alternative ways to locate natural and anthropogenic events that emit energy into the Earth. Potential sources include earthquakes, land slides, volcanic eruptions, glacial movements, meteorite impacts, and nuclear explosions. Kris Walker is also testing the Optical Fiber Infrasound Sensor (OFIS), located at Pion Flat Observatory, to find the best method for calculating the backazimuth to a specific event, and the optimum number and orientation of OFIS's in order to make this calculation.
